Cleaning in Mladost

Panel blocks from the 1960s to the 1990s, plus the newer buildings around Business Park. The cleaning is the same, only the organisation is different.

In Mladost we clean two kinds of home

Mladost is a panel district. Building work on Mladost 1 started in the mid-1960s and carried on into the early 1990s, and the blocks are mostly large-panel, series Bs-VIII-Sf, Bs-2-64, Bs-2-69 and Bs-69-Sf, along with EPK. By concentration of large-panel housing floor area, Mladost is second in Sofia after Ovcha kupel.

Alongside the panel blocks there is also new build. As of 2017 Mladost 4 was among the top five neighbourhoods in Sofia by volume of new residential construction, and Sofiaplan explains the rising prices in Mladost by the Business Park and the metro. So bookings here fall into two types: upkeep in an older panel flat, and cleaning a newer, larger home.

Technically there is little between them. A two-room panel flat in Mladost is cleaned the same way as a two-room panel flat anywhere else in Sofia. The difference is organisation: how many people we send, how the equipment gets upstairs, and how much of the day we set aside.

  • The panel series here are the same as across the rest of the city, so the job is familiar
  • We cover Mladost 1, 2, 3 and 4, and the newer buildings towards Business Park
  • Mladost 1 and Mladost 3 metro stations, when it is easier without a car
  • The same team every time on a regular booking
  • A fixed price after a free site visit, from 13 €/hour

Four things that slow cleaning in a panel block

Each one either takes extra time for the team, or shows the next day.

A strong descaler

Sofiyska voda puts the average total hardness of the city supply below 0.75 mgeq/l, around 2 dH, which is soft water, and the Mladost measurement matches the other districts. White marks on a tap or on tiles are rarely thick limescale. Warm water, a mild detergent and a second pass do more than an acid that dulls the chrome and the grout.

The same estimate for a panel flat and a new one

A two-room flat in a 1970s block and a home in the new build in Mladost 4 do not take the same time. Tell us which one it is when you book, so we send one cleaner or two instead of stretching the day.

One clean after building work

Fine dust from filler and cutting keeps settling for days and comes back on sills and top edges. After a renovation the place is done in several passes, with a HEPA vacuum and then wet, not in one round.

Planning without the lift

In the Bs-2-69 series the lift stops on the half-landings between floors and takes up to four people. Equipment gets carried half a flight at both ends, and a mattress or a large rug simply will not go in. If that is your entrance, tell us in advance so we can allow time for the carrying.

Questions from people who live in Mladost

Where do you park while you clean?

We come by car, because we bring the vacuum and the products. If there is nowhere to stop by your entrance, we leave the car wherever we find room and carry the equipment up. There is no extra charge for that. If you have a space, or know where there usually is one, tell us, it saves time at the start.

Our lift stops between floors. Is that a problem?

No, as long as we know beforehand. In the Bs-2-69 series the lift stops on the half-landings and is small, up to four people, so the team carries the equipment half a flight up and down. If the lift is out on the day, we still come, just tell us which floor you are on.

Do I need to be at home?

Not necessarily. Many clients leave us a key or an entry code. Our staff are vetted and insured, and every visit is logged with the time in and the time out. If you would rather be there the first time, that is normal too.

What time can the team come?

We work 8 to 19 on weekdays and 9 to 17 on Saturday, Sunday by prior arrangement. If you would rather we did not run a vacuum early because of the neighbours or a sleeping child, we start later, just say so when we agree the time.

What will the neighbours hear?

The vacuum is the loudest thing and it runs in bursts, not continuously. We do not drill, we do not drag furniture across the floor, and we do not leave the entrance door propped open. If someone next door sleeps during the day, we leave the noisy part for the end of the visit.

Does Mladost cost more?

No. Travel within Sofia is included in the price. We start at 13 €/hour, and a two-room flat on a regular clean is from 33 €. You get the exact figure in writing after the free site visit, and it does not change afterwards.
